Animation export base to be built
    2011-05-24  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

THE modern creative media school of Beijing Film Academy in Qingdao’s development zone will see its first students this September.

The school has signed contracts totaling 140 million yuan to introduce from countries like Japan and Germany equipment like MPEG IMAX used for 3D animation producing and screening.

A piece of 3D animation producing equipment, which was used in the production of the international blockbuster, “Avatar,” has arrived at the school.

The school plans to build a movie and animation innovation park in Qingdao to make it a professional export base of animation work.

After completion, the park will be able to produce 3,000 minutes of original animation works, one to four 3D movies and 1,000 minutes of cartoons on the Internet and mobile phones.(Li Hao, Han Guangliang)
