Local brands shine at Canton Fair

A TOTAL of 540 Qingdao companies with 1,030 booths attended the 109th Canton Fair which ended recently. They had made export deals of US$1.69 billion at the fair, increasing by 6.1 percent compared with the same period last year.

Most of these products were home appliances, hardware tools, textile and clothing, glass handicrafts and gifts. Among these, the volume of business for home appliances was US$105 million.

20 well-known companies from Qingdao, including Haier, Hisence and Double Stars, became leading companies at the fair. They had made deals of US$1.24 billion in total. According to the research, 91 percent of these companies launched new products at the fair.
