Mechanization of farming to be improved

THE mechanization of farming in the city will be raised to 85 percent in the next five years and mechanization in areas such as agriculture, fruit, animal breeding, water products and farm produce processing will be promoted.

Six projects, such as agricultural mechanical creative projects, agricultural mechanical subsidy projects and agricultural mechanical service projects, will be launched in five years. It is expected that the total power of the city’s agricultural machines will reach 9.26 million kilowatts and the value of the agricultural machines will reach 6.5 billion yuan in 2015.

At present the total power of the city’s agricultural machines is 7.636 million kilowatts and the total worth of the machines reached 5.01 billion yuan, which makes Qingdao one of the leading cities in agricultural mechanization in the country.
