TWENTY-FIVE innovative research teams from academies composed of high-tech professionals signed agreements to work together with 25 small to medium-sized enterprises May 13 at a campaign held in Qingdao Entrepreneur Rating Center. The campaign was to promote cooperation between academic research teams and enterprises. “Their cooperation is win-win both to transform the research results of the technology innovation teams and to address the technology bottleneck at the enterprises,” said Han Guangting, team leader of Textile Engineering Team from Qingdao University. Those research teams will study new technology to meet the demands of the enterprises, including solar-energy-driven vehicles and miniature welding machines. About 96.2 percent of enterprises in Qingdao are small or medium-sized, whose weakness is in R&D. And 100 scientific findings by Qingdao professionals have won provincial and national awards and 6,796 authorized as national patents in 2010. However, few have seen market transformation.
