Old architecture exhibited in old buildings
    2011-05-24  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

AN exhibition of 24 models of old architecture was held at a museum in a building which used to belong to the German governor. The exhibition opened May 18, International Museum Day.

Established in 1891, the city is well-known for its European-style architecture in the modern history of China. The 24 models at the exhibition included the former building for the German governor, Princess Building, Laibichi Cottage, the former German Embassy and Beach Hotel.

The maker of these models was born and raised in Qingdao and has been working there for years. He started making models in his spare time about 10 years ago and has finished more than 60 architecture models.

The exhibition was held in the former building for the German governor, which was also one of the classic European-style buildings in the city. It was called the symbol of “German architectural art in China.” It is now a national museum and a 3A tourism spot in the city.
