Facelift campaign started
    2011-05-31  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

QINGDAO has launched a 200-day citywide campaign to improve the urban environment.

The campaign will target visual pollution, public hygiene, vehicle exhaust emissions and the public areas including railroad sides, parks, municipal roads, building facades and construction sites.

The city has made achievements in reducing visual pollution and demolishing illegal buildings.

By May 23, the city had demolished more than 60 illegal buildings totaling around 2,000 square meters.

In addition, 5,898 pieces of illegal outdoor ads were removed, totaling 59,631 square meters.
