Qinghai-Tibet Railway/Lhasa/Yamdroktso Lake/7-day tour

D01: Shenzhen/Xining

Arrive in Xining by air. Rest in hotel.

D02: Xining/Lhasa (B,L)

Visit the Kumbum Monastery and Qinghai Lake. Take train in the afternoon (about 26 hours: 14:56-15:40 the second day).

D03: Qinghai-Tibet Railway

Enjoy beautiful scenes along the railway. Check in to the hotel in Lhasa.

D04: Lhasa (B,L,D)

In the morning, visit the imposing Potala Palace (the highest palace in the world). In the afternoon, visit the Jokhang Temple, also known as the Tibetans’ Mecca. Then stroll around the famous shopping bazaar along Barkhor Street.

D05: Lhasa (B,L,D)

After breakfast visit Drepung Monastery, one of the “great three” Gelukpa university monasteries of Tibet, the other two being Ganden and Sera. Then visit Sera Monastery.

D06: Lhasa/Namtso Lake/Lhasa (B,L,D)

Visit Namtso Lake. Back to Lhasa.

D07: Lhasa/Chengdu/Shenzhen (B)

Transfer to Lhasa airport after breakfast. Fly back home.

RMB6,280 per person

Single room supplement: RMB950

Price includes:

1. Tibet entry permit;

2. Tibet travel permit;

3. Transport;

4. 3-star hotel;

5. Meals (meals on plane and train not included);

6. Guide service (English-speaking guide);

7. Insurance;

8. Entrance fees;

9. Xining/Lhasa train tickets (hard sleeper).

Service excludes:

1. Shenzhen/Xining airfares with airport fee;

2. Lhasa/Shenzhen airfares with airport fee;

3. Tips;

Remarks:

1. Registration deadline: 7 days in advance.

2. Foreign diplomats and journalists not eligible.

3. Upgrade to soft sleeper on Xining/Lhasa train at RMB700 per person.

Note: People with heart disease, high blood pressure or asthma are advised against visiting Tibet and Nepal.
