CONSTRUCTION of six key industrial parks has made significant progress. By last week, 502 projects had been introduced. Of these, 385 have already started operation, while construction of 70 projects has started and 47 more have signed contracts. The total cost of these projects is about 82.4 billion yuan.

    The Longquan car parts industrial park in Jimo has spent about 230 million yuan on infrastructure. There are now 32 projects which have signed contracts worth 9.5 billion yuan, including 1.7 billion yuan which has already been paid. They were mainly in areas such as car remodeling, car assembly, engines, chassis, car finishing and numerical control.

    The Nudao ship industrial park in Jimo now has two signed projects costing 5 billion yuan. Among these, the first ship by the Yangfan Group finished in November last year, while the first phase of a manufacturing project from Zhuangming Energy Co. Ltd. started construction in December and will make revenue of 10.9 billion yuan every year after starting operations.

    The Dongjiakou heavy industrial park in Jiaonan is now working on introducing iron and petrochemical industries. Contracts had been signed for two projects costing 3.8 billion yuan, while nine were under discussion.

    The Yanghe equipment manufacturing park in Jiaozhou aims to become a new equipment manufacturing base featuring residential area, trading services, leisure activities and modern industries.

    Five projects with more than 20 billion yuan signed contracts and three projects worth 1.5 billion were under discussion.

    The Xinhe eco-chemical industrial park in Pingdu has already signed five projects worth 2.5 billion yuan. Twenty projects worth about 8 billion yuan are now under discussion.

    Total investment of 41.8 billion yuan in 455 projects in contracts was already signed with Jiangshan light industrial park in Laixi. Of these, 383 projects had started operation, while 50 projects are now under construction. Twenty-three projects with 4.7 billion yuan are under discussion.

    According to the plan, the six key industrial parks will become the city’s key areas in industrial transformation and upgrading.
