QINGDAO was awarded for its strategy in developing sister cities at the 2011 One Hundred Cities Seminar.

Representatives from 152 domestic cities and guests from foreign embassies attended the seminar.

Qingdao is one of 15 cities that won the award.

The seminar, held by the Chinese People's Association For Friendship With Foreign Countries and the Chinese International Friendship Cities Association, was themed on "Happy Cities and Green Energy."

Qingdao had also won the award of International Friendship Cities Cooperation Award and Foreign Friendship Cities Special Contribution Award in 2010.
