Quick change at station hall
    2011-06-23  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

    Richard Han

WITH the opening of Metro Line 5, the transit hall at the eastern square of Shenzhen North Railway Station was officially opened for passengers changing to Line 4.

Passengers can take escalators from the first floor to the Line 5 platform or the Line 4 platform.

It takes just three minutes to change between Line 4 and Line 5. The hall will be open between 6 a.m. and 11 p.m.

After the opening of Shenzhen North Railway Station in August, passengers can take high-speed trains to Wuhan five minutes after they get off the Metro trains.

There were 60 escalators and 53 lifts at the station. Of these 20 escalators are for changing to lines 4 and 5. Passengers can also access the bus terminal and taxi stands on both sides of the hall.

Shenzhen transport commission opened eight bus routes in the eastern square connecting the North Railway Station with city business centers, major residential estates and terminals yesterday.

M352 will connect with Long-hua Bus Terminal and M354 will operate from stations to the Guanlan Long-Distance Bus Terminal.

The commission said another nine routes would be opened in August to link the railway station with Nanshan CBD, Pinghu Bus Terminal, Huaqiang North Metro Station and Wenjindu Bus Terminal.
