SHENZHEN North Railway Station is an important transport hub for the Beijing-Hong Kong passenger rail and Shenzhen-Xiamen passenger rail. Located southwest of Long-hua and occupying an area of 122 hectares, the railway station is 9 kilometers from downtown Shenzhen. It is also where Metro lines, 4, 5 and 6 meet. The transport hub, the largest in South China, is in three sections including the main station, eastern square and western square. The railway station has 11 platforms and is expected to transport 26 million passengers a year by 2030. The four-story eastern square is the transit area for bus, Metro and taxi passengers. The western square will be mainly for private cars and long-distance buses. It has the largest car park in Shenzhen with 1,500 parking spaces.
