THE Chinese Film Performance Art Academy is scheduling the 13th Golden Phoenix Awards in Qingdao’s economic and technological development zone between Aug. 9 and 13, according to a press conference June 22.

    The award ceremony will be held on the night of Aug. 11, which is expected to see the attendance of Chinese film stars covering different generations, such as Zhou Xun, Hsu Chi, Sun Honglei and Yao Chen.

    In addition, a variety of activities are to be held, including interviews with film stars, a forum discussing film and TV.

    Film stars will be invited to plant trees in the city.

    It will be the third time for the biennial film award to be held in the zone since its founding in 1987, which is dedicated to commend artists who have made contributions to the development of China’s film industry.
