Dongjiakou attracts 13 projects worth 40b yuan
    2011-06-28  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

THE Dongjiakou harbor area has attracted 13 projects with total investment of more than 40 billion yuan since it started construction in May 2009. Among these, four projects from Huaneng Group, Sinopec, Datang Power and Qingdao Harbor have already started construction. There were 22 berths in the four projects, giving priority to the transportation of ore, oil and coal. According to the plan, the berths will be put into operation this year. Meanwhile, construction on the harbor checkpoint has also finished and will be in operation at the end of this month, offering one-stop inspection and examination services to ships. An advanced monitoring system has also been equipped in the operation hall to increase management efficiency at the checkpoint.

Infrastructural work is also going smoothly. At present, the total investment of infrastructure construction has reached 11.3 billion yuan. Among these, the first phase of the main construction of a west pier has finished construction in April. The world’s largest port facility project — Dongjiakouzui operation zone has already started operation since March, while anchorage construction has already been approved and prepared. The railway project in the harbor area is also approved by the provincial authorities and the harbor is now working on building an integrated transportation system in the area.
