A blue dream
    2011-06-28  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

A LARGE sea view performance is now on stage at the Qingdao Olympic Sailing Center, building a blue oceanic world full of imagination at the spectacular coastal city.

    An Olympic dream

The Olympic element is an important part of the performance. Held at the Olympic Sailing Center, the production team and equipments were all used to work for the opening and closing ceremony of the Beijing Olympics.

As the country’s only high-end sea view theater building on the sea, the center perfectly combines the sea and yachts, representing the city’s connection with ocean and yachts. Unlike other theaters, design of the theater focuses on the theme of ocean. The giant spherical screen can be opened and closed according to the needs, bringing audiences into a mysterious oceanic world.

    A Qingdao dream

Qingdao is also called “city of romance” and “city of love” with its beautiful urban environment, blue sky and ocean and romance has also become an important factor of the performance. Music director of the opening ceremony of the Beijing Olympics, Xia Liunian, produced a special work for the performance and it was performed by the world-famous violinist Lu Siqing.

With the world’s most advanced equipment and excellent acting, audiences can experience an exciting journey to feel the charm of the ocean and special culture of Qingdao.

    A new landmark

The performance has now become a landmark performance to the residents and travelers to experience the city’s special ocean culture.

After hosting the sailing competition for the Olympics, the center has now become a famous tourist attraction in the city. It was first opened to the public Oct. 1, 2008. The former Olympic Village has now become a luxury hotel, while the media center is now a yacht club and the broadcasting center is today’s Olympic Sailing Museum. With the big success of the theater and performance, the center will help the city make more new achievements in its cultural and tourism industry.
