DIGITAL reading rooms will be built in communities across the city before 2015, a news conference was told June 19. The reading rooms will be equipped with computers with Internet access, cable TV, projectors, speakers, and printing machines. A technician will also be helping readers at the reading rooms. The digital reading rooms, an extension of public library services, will provide contents in technology, culture, politics, economy, lifestyle, children’s literature and other subjects. Books and games for children will be the focus of the digital reading rooms, aiming to provide wholesome entertainment. Pilot reading rooms will be built in more than 10 communities in each district before October. (Chen Ting, Jia Zhen) |
