Sailing Tour de France starts
    2011-06-28  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

THE Sailing Tour de France started in Dunkirk on June 24 and will end July 25. The team “South France — China Qingdao” has been fully prepared to make great achievements in the competition.

The two Chinese sailors include Guo Chuan, a professional born-and-raised Qingdao sailor who has won several awards at international sailing competitions, and Yu Ying, a student from the Marine University of China in Qingdao. The two are fluent in French.

There were 12 teams at the competition and they used medium-sized yacht at about 34 feet long. “There are 10 members in our team and only eight are allowed to attend one section, so we will attend the competitions in turn. I will compete in two-thirds of the competition,” said Guo.
