Learning is everywhere
    2011-06-29  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

Roy (罗易)

People often believe that students learn most of their knowledge at school. As technology advances rapidly and information explodes, there are now myriad ways of learning about the world around you.

Traditional learning methods include listening to lectures, reading books and doing homework. Actually, if we try, we will find that bravery can bring us knowledge, which is invaluable.

Liu Ruoxi, an 18-year-old student from Shenzhen Senior High School, became an overnight celebrity by declaring that he wanted to be elected as a representative of Shenzhen Futian District People's Congress. People immediately started talking about Liu.

As a friend of Liu, I have found the experience and joy Liu holds is much more important than winning his desired position. "I have much interest in public affairs and want to explore more. I think the experience would be the best gift for my 18th birthday. I have collected a large amount of information from the city's library. I feel a level of pressure that I have never felt before," Liu said.

I'm sure participating in the election is a way of learning about society. Reflecting from different comments will no doubt help Liu position himself more accurately and learn actively.
