MORE than half of the trains running on the recently opened Beijing-Shanghai high-speed railway were produced by local company Qingdao Sifang Co. under China South Locomotive and Rolling Stock Co.

    The two models in operation, CRH380A and CRH380AL, run at a speed of 350 kilometers per hour and can reach a maximum of 380 kilometers per hour.

    The CRH380AL train performed well in a five-month test run on the railway before its opening June 30.

    In addition, the CRH380A has been running without a fault on Shanghai-Hangzhou, Shanghai-Ningbo and Wuhan-Guangzhou high-speed railways. (Li Hao, Lin Gang)
