HARVESTING of the city’s 280,013 hectares of wheat has finished recently and the production volume of this year’s summer crops is expected to be higher than last year.

Introducing preferential policies, field management and advanced agricultural technology are the main reasons for the increase of this year’s harvest. Meanwhile, the 30 crops model areas have also set good examples in increasing the city’s wheat production ability and market competitiveness.

Among these, the production volume of wheat in Cuijiaji in Pingdu was 704.9 kilograms per 0.067 hectares, which is the highest among all.

The city will set up 15 wheat model areas and each will cover an area of more than 666.7 hectares. High quality wheat will also be planted in these areas.
