THE city’s marine and fishery department has started releasing marine creatures to increase this year’s fishery production. At the startup ceremony, the department released 400,000 shrimps, 200,000 crabs, and nearly 15,000 fish fry.

Over recent years, Qingdao has sped up construction of artificial reefs. Five artificial reef areas with about 40.85 million yuan have been built.
