CONSTRUCTION on Licang District Public Service Center started June 27.

Located to the west of Niumao Mountain and the east of the new Qingdao Municipal No. 3 People's Hospital, the center occupies an area of 14,600 square meters at an investment of 350 million yuan (US$54 million).

The public service center will house services provided by the district's elderly university, federation of disabled, healthcare administration, center for disease control and prevention, care center for women and children, marriage registry and charity associaitons after it's completed.

The structures include two general buildings and a multi-function meeting room and a badminton stadium between the two buildings.

The southern building has seven floors and the northern building has six floors.

It is designed by Japan's Research Institute of Architecture-design and will be finished by the end of 2012.
