THE 2011 China International Consumer Electronics Show (SINOCES 2011) will be held at Qingdao International Exhibition and Convention Center from July 7 to 10. This year's SINOCES features the cloud computing technology. It forecasts the latest technology and trend of the consumer electronics industry globally. A total of 532 companies have applied to participate in the show, 29 more than last year. (Chen Ting, Shen Junlin) Largest garbage transfer station in China A GARBAGE transfer station equipped with cutting-edge technology is to be built in Qingdao, said the city's urban and rural construction bureau. The station, located to the west of Loushan River Sewage Treatment Plant, will occupy an area of 100,000 square meters and is the largest in the country. It was planned for a daily garbage treatment capacity of 4,000 tons. The station is equipped with advanced garbage weighing system, garbage compression system, odor removal system, and central computer control system.
