As happy as the Metro is long
    2011-07-07  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

Five new Metro lines extending nearly 180 kilometers opened last month, marking the start of the "Metro era" in Shenzhen. The lines are expected to transport 5 to 6 million people a day, alleviating traffic congestion and reducing air pollution that have been plaguing the city.

Residents now have access to a more effective, reliable, comfortable and low-carbon means of transport and the convenience brought by the new Metro lines will in some way make the city smaller and "extend" our reach.
