City’s airport progresses well
    2011-07-12  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

THE city’s airport handled 50,633 flights and more than 5.48 million passengers in the first half of this year.

The number of passengers was an 8.19 percent increase year on year.

The airport has opened six new flight routes and one temporary route this year, making improvements on flight control to allow 28 flights to take off or touch down each hour.

An international freight route has been opened to connect Pudong, Qingdao and Los Angeles.

Shenzhen Airlines opened a route to connect Qingdao with Changsha and Nanning.

In addition, an express route opened to connect Qingdao with Nanjing and Jinan.

The airport cooperated with Shandong Airlines last month to open a mobile phone boarding service, through which passengers can use their mobile phones to apply for a boarding pass.
