Bus driver a hit on the Net
    2011-07-12  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

A BUS driver on route 121 of Qingdao Bus Group became popular on the Internet after word spread of his gentlemanly manners. His name is Han Mingxing.

The message, posted by a netizen nicknamed Xingzheshanglu Xiaoyaozizai, said Han made every passenger feel at home.

More than 200 netizens have responded to the post in a few days.

“I took Bus 121 one day when I was jobless. I felt so warm when Han greeted me with caring words. He was one of those who help me overcome depression,” said a netizen identified as Tangtanghua.

“We have received several hundred calls from residents,” said Chen Ling, an official with Qingdao Bus Group. “All wanted to thank Han for his good services.”

Wu Xiuying, 82, is a regular traveler on Han’s bus.

“He gave me a hand and helped me get into the bus every time as if he were my own son,” said Wu.

As well as greeting passengers with “Hello” and “Good-bye,” Han also gives travel tips to passengers during each trip.

Recruited as a soldier specializing in bomb explosion in 1986, Han said he cultivated a serious work ethic during his four years in the Army.

“That experience taught me to focus on details and do everything according to stringent requirements,” he said.

“What I’m doing now is just doing my job in a decent way.”
