THE city will build an intelligent system providing real-time traffic information to ease traffic jams.

    The system will help residents choose routes and plan trips more reasonably with information displayed on LED panels on main roads.

    Residents could also inquire about traffic information through radio or the Internet by accessing the system.

    Traffic information will be collected through the GPS systems installed in taxis and buses as well as sensors on roads.

    Besides traffic information, the system can also provide services such as traffic control, traffic security management, parking management and emergency response.

    It is expected to improve road efficiency by 20 percent.
