THE city introduced a total of 531 Chinese professionals who have returned from overseas in the first half of this year, a 23-percent increase year on year, according to statistics released by the human resources and social security bureau. To attract high-caliber professionals, the city has invested 120 million yuan to construct 260 well-decorated apartments, ranging from 50 to 110 square meters, for the professionals deemed urgently needed by the city’s development. A total of 48 urgently needed professionals have been given permanent residence in the city. All 531 returned overseas Chinese professionals have a strong academic background.
