A TOTAL of 222 projects invested by non-Qingdao companies were set up in the city during the first six months of this year, while the number of industrial transformation projects reached 364.

    Two hundred twenty-two out of 305 projects planned to be set up in the city this year have already started construction, such as the Nexen tire project, a wind power plant and a Toshiba elevator project. Total investment on the projects was 87.6 billion yuan.

    Since 2009, the city has announced 683 industrial transformation projects. A total of 364 projects with about 80.7 billion yuan have finished construction and their sales revenues are expected to increase by 176.7 billion yuan when starting operation.
