150 students paint Qingdao
    2011-07-19  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

MORE than 150 students from over 30 primary and middle schools in Qingdao painted more than 100 pictures of the city.

The paintings will be given to international sailors who come to participate in the 2011 Qingdao International Sailing Week.

The activity has been held for 19 years in a row. The theme for this year’s painting competition was ocean, sailing and Qingdao.

The oldest contestant was 15 and the youngest was 5 years old. One of the students named Si Lei, who has been participating in the competition for 10 years, took her 5-year-old sister to the competition this year.

“I painted a yacht with a lot of olive branches. It represents hope for peace and hope for a green and beautiful Qingdao,” said one of the contestants named Sun Chen.(Wang Yuanyuan, Pan Qi)
