“TIBETAN Mastiff Dorje,” an animation film co-produced by China and Japan, premiered July 15 nationally.

Adapted from best-selling novel “Tibetan Mastiff” by Qingdao writer Yang Zhijun, the movie tells the story of a friendship between a Tibetan boy and a mastiff named Dorje the boy found on the plateau.

Three Japanese cartoon magnates were invited to join the production, hoping to bring the animated movie up to the same standard as Hollywood animations.

It is jointly invested by Mad House Incorporation of Japan and the China Film Group Corporation.(Chen Ting, Wang Ping)
