THE construction started on 13 projects worth 5.7 billion yuan at the city’s Xinhe eco-chemical industrial base July 21, the second anniversary of the base’s opening.

    Another two projects worth 2.1 billion yuan were also approved to enter the park on the same day.

    One of the new industrial zones in the city, the Xinhe base has been seeing the construction of 22 projects worth more than 8.3 billion yuan.

    Qingdao Hiwin Group has signed an agreement to invest a total of 400 million yuan on a thermoelectricity project at the base. The first phase of the project will cost 136 million yuan, which after completion will have a supply capacity of 162.3x104GJ of steam and 4,221.4x104kWh/a of electricity.

    With a total investment of 1.7 billion yuan, a chemical fertilizer project will be constructed at the base in three stages.

    Among the 13 projects put under construction July 21, a 1.9-billion-yuan international logistics center will have the capacity to handle 20 million tons of goods each year, achieving a yearly operation income of 450 million yuan.
