Beer festival to open Aug. 13
    2011-08-02  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

THE 21st Qingdao Beer Festival will commence at Qingdao International Beer City from Aug. 13 to 28.

Unlike previous festivals, this year’s event invites top beer brands around the world to join in the carnival, such as Budweiser, Heineken, Baker and Asahi.

The city has set up 17 beer venues covering an area of more than 30,000 square meters. Visitors can also taste different cuisines around the world at different venues.

It will also be the first time that foreign art performance companies are introduced to the famous beer festival. The companies are from Europe, Asia, South America and Africa. Other activities, such as exhibitions, children’s playgrounds and forums, will also be held during the festival.

The beer festival is expected to become one of the largest and most famous beer festivals in the world, said Yang Jujun, chief director of the festival.
