200 hikers have fun in Qingdao
    2011-08-09  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

A TOTAL of 200 hikers participated in a hiking activity held in Laoshan Mountain, Qingdao.

As part of a national hiking program, the Qingdao leg of the journey included a 10.3-kilometer route from the north of Qingdao to the north of Laoshan Mountain.

The national program, “Towards the North,” started from Guangzhou, Guangdong Province. The team will pass cities such as Chengdu, Hangzhou, Shanghai, Nanjing, Qingdao, Beijing, Shenyang and Harbin. They will explore the north of the cities through hiking, camping, mountain climbing, cycling and driving.

Participants will have a chance to attend winter training in Mohe, the northernmost city in China. Their final destination after the training will be the North Pole.
