THERE are more than 260 key projects under construction in the city. Of these, about 66 have just started, while 229 will be finished soon. About 20 infrastructure projects were completed in the first half of the year. Total investment was 43.8 billion yuan, an increase of 5 percent over the same period last year.

    Most projects this year were in the service industry or related to urban construction and transportation. Investment in service industry projects and urban construction and transportation in the first six months was 21.6 billion yuan and 9 billion yuan, accounting for 49 percent and 20 percent in total investment. Ten of the 15 projects related to livelihood costing 12.1 billion yuan have started this year, while 35 of 37 key projects in new industries were also under construction.
