A tour of natural resort and theme park

Mangrove Nature Reserve — Happy Valley

Mangrove Nature Reserve

The country’s only national nature reserve located in a city center, Mangrove Nature Reserve is a paradise for egrets and other birds. A 400-meter-long glass wall separates Binhahi Boulevard and Mangrove Nature Resort, making it a peaceful place for the avian life.

Rare plants abound at Mangrove Nature Reserve. The Shenzhen Bay area was once covered with mangrove trees, but most of them gave way to civilization and urban development.

About 100,000 migratory birds of 180 species come to the reserve during winter, of which more than 20 species are rare and protected.

The reserve attracts bird watchers as well as people who have simply come to enjoy the sea breeze.
