Universiade Village
    2011-08-20  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

The Universiade Village is the largest place in the entire Universiade facility, which has a total of 5,228 apartments and accommodates more than 13,000 athletes.

The village is divided into four zones based on their functions and security levels, including an operational zone, an international zone, a residential zone and a logistics zone.

In the residential zone, the athletes’ 12,000-square- meter restaurant will supply buffets and dinners 24 hours a day, providing Mediterranean, Muslim and Asian foods.

The international zone has different facilities such as a DVD room, an Internet café, a self-service library, a Polyclinic Center, a Music-therapy Center, as well as a Religious Service Center. And the Religious Service Center has several activity rooms catering to Buddhists, Muslims, Catholics and Christians. The Polyclinic Center with 12 departments provides free medical services. Meanwhile, the village also arranges cultural activities such as dance classes and drama classes.

A total of 1,112 staff from six local hotels will service the dormitories. Volunteers also provide 24-hour service for the Universiade Village. (SD-Agencies)
