Software industry grows fast

    ACCORDING to the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology statistics, the country’s software industry sales revenue was 806.5 billion yuan in the first half of this year, increasing by 29 percent over the same period last year. Profits reached 103 billion yuan, increasing by about 35 percent. The city’s software industry revenue was 13.89 billion yuan, an increase of 70 percent over the same period last year.

    Across the country in the first half of this year, software industry revenue was 417.8 billion yuan, an increase of almost 35 percent, while information technology services and data processing grew by 63 percent and 40.8 percent. Export volume in the 15 cities was US$ 8.86 billion, accounting for about 66 percent of the total export volume of software.

    In Qingdao, income for software products was 467 million yuan in the first six months, increasing by 32 percent over the same period last year, while revenue for information systems, information technology service, data processing and operation, embedded systems software and IC design was 467 million yuan, 2.76 billion yuan, 2.07 billion yuan, 2.3 billion yuan, 6.07 billion yuan and 200 million yuan respectively, increasing by 32 percent, 114 percent, 109.7 percent, 91.9 percent, 44.5 percent and 67.5 percent than last year, much faster than many cities of the same administrative level.
