Sailing Week opens

THE 3rd Qingdao International Sailing Week opened at the Olympics Sailing Center on Aug. 20.

The event, aiming to promote sports and cultural communication, has now become an important platform for cultural exchange and communication among different countries and regions. It is an important international event held in the city.

Count Jacques Rogge, chairman of the International Olympic Committee, sent his sincere greetings and high hopes for the event in a letter, hoping the event will have a lasting positive impact on the city and its residents.

In his letter, he said that Qingdao has been an Olympic city ever since the Olympic sailing competition was held in 2008. He also congratulated the city's big success in hosting important international events such as international sailing regattas, international sailing training programs and sailing forums. He said that the committee will fully support the city's efforts in promoting the Olympic spirit and sailing activities.

This year's Sailing Week features an international training camp for teenagers and five competitions for professional sailors and teenagers.
