Interpretative concert held at school
    2011-10-11  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

QINGDAO Symphony Orchestra gave an interpretative concert at the city’s school of kindergarten teachers Sept. 28 to improve teachers’ knowledge of symphonic music.

Each piece of classical symphonic music was performed after an interpreter explained details of the music, including the background of its composer and its style, which was welcomed by trainee kindergarten teachers.

The head of the orchestra, Lian Xinguo, said that it is common among domestic symphony orchestras to hold such interpretative concerts to promote high art among ordinary people.

Lian’s orchestra has also held an interpretative concert at China University of Petroleum.

“We should start fostering children’s aesthetic appreciation at an early age,” said Lian.
