Italians open charity in QD
    2011-10-11  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

QINGDAO’S first foreign charity fund has been established under the initiation of three Italians who reside here.

The three Italians started thinking about what they could do for their adopted hometown in June last year. After discussing it with other Italian expats, they came up with the idea of the charity fund.

The fund has raised more than 1.4 million yuan for Qingdao Children’s Welfare Institution, buying a bus and 20 computers for children.

In addition, the fund organized Italian opera performances to raise donations to the institution.
