"QINGDAO Week," a campaign to promote Qingdao and the next horticultural expo to be held in the city, was held at the 2011 International Horticultural Expo in Xi'an between Oct. 15 and 22.

During the week there were yacht parades, float parades, a photo exhibition, art performances and free tasting of Tsingtao beer.

Performances featuring stage designs of Qingdao's scenic spots, culture and history were given and float parades went through the horticultural garden every day during the week. Visitor could also ride on yachts twice a day.

"Qingdao Week" was the biggest among all the "City Week" campaigns at the expo, aiming at promoting the next expo in Qingdao in 2014.

"After the Xi'an expo, promotion of the Qingdao expo will enter a new level," said Lu Zhenyu, director of the publicity department of the organizing committee of the 2014 Qingdao International Horticultural Expo.
