Tsingtao Beer sets up first factory abroad
    2011-11-22  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

TSINGTAO Beer will build its first overseas factory in Thailand. The factory’s production volume will be 200,000 kiloliters a year.

The company hopes to improve its quality, operation system and management level and attract more international professionals through the move.

Tsingtao Beer has cooperated with foreign companies such as Asahi and AB. It chose Thailand as the location of its first overseas factory because of the similar culture.

“Thailand’s economy is thriving and is a famous tourist destination, so there is big potential in its beer market,” said Jin Zhiguo, president of the company.

Meanwhile, beer has a short shelf life and Thailand is at the center of the ASEAN countries. For this reason, Thailand is a good export base.

5 firms to pilot resources-saving management

FIVE companies’ resources-saving plans were approved by national experts recently.

The companies included Tsingtao Beer, Jifa Group Co. Ltd. and Tiandun Rubber Co. Ltd. They set up 14 projects with total investment of 1 billion yuan to pilot resources-saving management.

They will take about two years to build their management system and receive national support after being approved by government departments. (Wang Yuanyuan Qingbao)
