MORE than 100 polar animals are being exhibited at the Qingdao Aquarium, the first public exhibition of its kind in China.

    The animals were brought by the Xuelong Science Investigation Ship, including fish, starfish and other mollusks. Many of the creatures were found in the sea. Because most of them had been found for the first time, there was no official name for them yet at the exhibition.

    Among them, there was a deep-sea starfish whose body was more than 1 meter long. (Wang Yuanyuan, Zhao Jianpeng)
