My sweet childhood memories 袁颖霞 深圳职业技术学院
    2011-11-23  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

I was born in a remote village in Hubei Province, where the scenery is beautiful.

Every spring, I would go to the mountains to pluck tea leaves with my parents. I took pride in being an excellent picker.

In summer, the heat did not deter me from going outside. In the daytime, my brother and I would catch fish in the river with our hands. The evening was my favorite time. I could hear frogs croaking, with one taking the lead and others joining in like backing vocalists.

Autumn is the harvest season, and we could taste all kinds of nuts and fruit.

What impressed me the most was winter. Unlike many southern cities where it never snows, my hometown sees heavy snowfall every winter. We could have a snowball fight, make a snowman or skate on the frozen river. My childhood was idyllic.

At the age of 16, I moved to this city with my parents, and have been here since. My childhood is now just a memory but it is a precious one.
