Cross-Straits produce trading center opens

    2011-11-29  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

A CROSS-STRAITS agricultural produce trading and logistics center has opened in Qingdao’s Chengyang District.

The center is aimed at facilitating entry of Taiwan’s agricultural produce into the Shandong market by providing platforms of selling, purchasing, logistic delivery, information release and exchange and cooperation.

The center in Qingdao is the fifth of its kind in the country and the first in northern China.

The center includes an exhibition area, a trading area and a storage and logistics area.

The city government said the center is expected to advance the exchange and cooperation between Qingdao and Taiwan in agriculture.

With help from the center, Qing-dao’s agricultural industry will be boosted by the introduction of agricultural technology and management expertise in Taiwan.

The city would deepen its cooperation with the island in the trading logistics of agricultural produce.

In addition, the city will seek to cooperate with Taiwan in petrochemical engineering, textiles, information technology, the marine economy and modern service.
