CHINA National Heavy Duty Truck Group Corp. (CNHTC) has opened a subsidiary in Qingdao. The subsidiary’s factory started production in the city’s high-tech zone Nov. 18. The factory covers an area of 53 hectares and cost 800 million yuan in its first stage. It is capable of producing 15,000 special vehicles, 100,000 sets of hydraulic cylinders and 5,000 excavators each year. The opening of the factory will not only increase CNHTC’s exports of special vehicles, but also strengthen Qingdao’s auto industry. CNHTC would increase its input into the factory and aims to achieve a sales revenue of 10 billion yuan. Total investment in the factory would reach 2 billion yuan. Founded in 1954, CNHTC is one of the earliest enterprises to produce special vehicles in the country. (Li Hao, Zhang Yu) |
