CONSTRUCTION of Qingdao’s Metro Line 2 is scheduled to start next year and be completed in 2016.

    The Ministry of Environmental Protection has reviewed and approved an environmental impact assessment of the Metro construction, laying a foundation for a final approval by the National Development and Reform Commission.

    Covering more than 25 kilometers, Line 2 will consist of 22 stations.

    An initial geological survey of Line 2 has been completed and another detailed survey is expected to be finished before the end of this year.

    The city’s Metro Line 3 is also under construction.
