Measures taken on Internet of Things
    2011-12-06  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

ACCORDING to the Ministry of Industry and Information, a five-year plan on Internet of Things was completed recently and will be announced at the end of this year. Qingdao also has taken measures to develop its Internet of Things.

“We will grab this opportunity to build model projects and establish industrial association to ensure fast development of the industry,” said an unidentified official.

The city carried out a plan on the development of the Internet of Things in January and many creative companies have already taken actions in the area.

Haier Group launched a series of products related to Internet of Things, while Hisense has already owned a batch of technological achievements in Internet of Things.

“Several leading companies in Qingdao have already built an industrial chain related to the field, including chip design and manufacturing, digital label manufacturing, reading and writing equipment development, net, software development, sales, systems integration, online service and third-party service,” said the official.

In the past five years, the city invested more than 100 million yuan in RFID development and application. A special fund on Internet of Things was also set up last year to promote its development.

“The Internet of Things will mainly be used in areas such as industrial manufacturing, modern logistics, tire production, breeding management and home appliances,” said an information expert. (Wang Yuanyuan, Lin Gang)
