When I was a little girl, I was afraid of growing up because I thought adult life would be much more difficult. But like a tree, I feel I am growing stronger as I get older. Now I am a teenager, studying at a junior high school. I have learnt more, made more friends, seen more of the world and understood more about life. When I was in Grade 6 in primary school, I broke my leg in an accident. The accident meant I had to stay at home for six months. It was a miserable experience at first. My parents tried their best to look after me. Teachers and friends came to spend time with me. I gradually learned to enjoy living that way. The care I received reminded me of how many people cared about me. Although now my life is full of stress and challenges, such as taking exams, I think they are just small bumps on the road to success. I am no longer afraid. |
