First bonus share at largest hoggery in Shandong
    2011-12-20  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

SHANDONG Province’s largest pig farm, Hemei Pig Farm Cooperation, divided its sharings for the first time and more than 100 members will receive bonuses at the end of this month.

Established in September, the pig farm was initiated by seven established pig farmers with 157 members in Jiaozhou, Zhucheng, Gaomi and Jiaonan. Among them, 57.3 percent own more than 500 pigs. There are 5,600 pig sows currently being raised and 120,000 pigs are sold to market every year. The cooperation will provide advanced breeding technology, feed, medicine, training and sales services to the farmers.

“We held a third meeting with the members last week, discussing this year’s shares,” said Bao Qingli, president of the farm.

“So far, the sales volume has reached 120 million yuan, all of which will go to the farmers. The profit will be generated by the sale of pig feed and medicine. Among these, the transaction volume of the feed is more than 6 million yuan, while sales of medicine reached 1.5 million yuan. The group purchase of feed and medicine has helped save more than 1.5 million yuan. The feed and medicine factory, one of its biggest clients, will return more than 300,000 yuan to the cooperation as a reward,” said Bao.

“According to their agreement, 30 percent of the profit will fund the cooperation. Because investment ourselves is large, we want to give more shares to the members, so we decided to keep only 10 percent for fund,” said Bao.

The members can receive shares of 1,000 yuan to 20,000 yuan.

More pig farmers in the neighboring areas also want to join in the cooperation. “A member cannot only enjoy many discounts and services but can also receive bonuses at the end of the year,” said farmer Sun Benlin.
